Barking Dog

Posted on Mar 6th, 2008 by a.vicky : Traveller a.vicky

This blog has been long overdue as the idea of writing about barking person came to me long back.  The title is self explanatory but it isn't that simple that you can give this blog a miss.

We have come across people who not only talk unnecessary but sometimes talk derogatory and de-motivating. It's easy to ignore when the content of conversation is gibberish.  But how to cope up with situation when somebody is making you feel infra dig.

Here are some easy tips to cope in such a situation:-

  • Identify people who bark at you. May be what they say is true yet they have no right to say it. Or the way they say may not be correct.
  • Barking people may or may not be perpetual barkers. In other words in some situation a particular person may be barking person and in other situation (s)he may not be so.
  • Never repeat what these barking people say about you to others especially when sharing your remorse with close ones. (Remember you never quoted a barking dog when you narrate the incident to your mother after school).
  • Don't hate them or love them just ignore them. Best way to react to a barking person is to acknowledge what they say about you without a feeling of despondency.
The world is full of barking person. And they will keep barking. No law and no rule can stop them. So please relax and enjoy yourself. Dance for happiness when they are barking at you. ‘Music is in every sound', said a famous musician so find music in their barking too.

‘Blow Nose’ London

Posted on Mar 10th, 2008 by a.vicky : Traveller a.vicky
I have entered my third week of stay in London. Having spent two weekends here I have noticed few things typical of London. One thing is kind a funny and reminds of my school days.

One of my boarding hostel wardens had a typical rule of checking nails, shoe polish and nose dirt every Wednesday and Friday after classes. If white of nails were seen she used to cut it with scissors. Make us polish ours shoes until she could see her lipstick on the shoe. And when it came to nose we had to blow it hard so that is as clean as new. Sorry if all this sounds like a concentration camp activity. It wasn’t that bad as I am making it sound.

Coming back to London, I could not help noticing the way people blow their nose. Every train I board or bus I climb one or other person is blowing his(er) nose. I bet of all people my warden would we the happiest person seeing Londoners following her instructions. But it drives me crazy.

Anyway happing nose blowing.
