Be your cheerleader, be your yes-person or your own critic

Posted on May 17th, 2008 by a.vicky : Traveller a.vicky
It has been since I wrote my last blog. I guess the 10 by 10 living room does not inspire me much. Or maybe I am busy experiencing London. I am kind of feeling the city. Something I did when I first visited Mumbai. Somehow I feel every city (or most of it) has a soul, a body and feelings. You can talk to the city like you talk to people. Sorry if I am sounding little crazy here. Let me get back to the point I want to highlight in this blog.

Other day a wonderful thought crossed my mind. Why do we have cheerleaders in sports? Just to attract crowd. Hmmm. I won't comment on that. But we can draw an important life lesson from it. And to make the learning complete let's consider two other roles that exists, Yes-(wo)man and Critic. For simplicity of understanding lets define them as follow:-

Cheerleader
- Somebody who jumps and cheers whenever you score a goal (i.e. do something good).

Yes-(wo)man
- Somebody who always jumps and cheers even if u fail to score a goal.

Critic
- Somebody who would not jump and cheer even if you think u scored the best goal. Rather (s)he would find ways to how you could have done it better.

No matter you are, where you are or what you do in life. One always needs to have these three types of people. And if my understanding of society is correct then you should never expect to come across these people someday. Take up these roles for yourself. Be your cheerleader, be your yes-person or your own critic.  If you are going through a serious of failures be a yes person to yourself and keep believing in your luck, sweat and blood. After hard and fulfilling day's work be a cheerleader and treat yourself. Jump and dance for yourself. You deserve every bit of attention. And then be an honest critic and see how you can improve yourself, your work. Perfection is a habit.

Love yourself and make them your best friend and I bet every day will worth living.
